Semana's expanding access to healthcare supplies
Semana is a remote village located about 80 kilometers south of Bamako, home to approximately 4,300 residents, including over 920 students at the local school. Health concerns are paramount in the village, as many residents suffer from waterborne illnesses due to Coliform bacteria in their water supply, leading to widespread cases of diarrhea. Additionally, basic sanitation and hygiene practices have not been effectively implemented or understood.
To combat these challenges, the Mali Wellness Foundation provided essential training for both villagers and students. Workshops focused on fundamental practices in clean water usage, food preparation, handwashing, personal hygiene, and sanitation. This initiative aims to improve overall health and empower the community with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a healthier environment.
