Moussadiabougou's boost in food production

Moussadiabougou, a remote village in southern Mali with 1,800 residents, struggled to sustain its women’s garden due to a lack of reliable water. Located 77 kilometers (48 miles) southwest of Bamako, the village’s garden, measuring 92 by 61 meters, faced poor yields from insufficient irrigation.

The Mali Wellness Foundation transformed this by drilling a 67-meter (220-foot) deep well, providing clean, dependable water. A 228-meter (250-yard) trench was dug, connecting the well to the garden with a drip-line irrigation system. Now, the entire garden is efficiently watered in just two hours, significantly improving crop growth and community nourishment.
