Transforming water access in Binabougou
Binabougou, a remote village three kilometers north of Bamako, with 3,500 residents and 931 students, struggled with limited access to clean water, affecting both health and daily life.
The Mali Wellness Foundation addressed this by drilling a 244-foot deep well that remains operational year-round. Equipped with a newly designed filtration system, the well ensures a steady supply of pure, potable water for the entire community. A 500-gallon water storage tank was installed on a raised tower, powered by three solar panels driving the submersible pump. Two water spigots were strategically placed in the schoolyard and across the village, providing convenient access to clean drinking water for all.
