Moussadiabougou

Provide villagers with increased nourishment by teaching proper gardening techniques and installing a drip system

Moussadiabougou’s increasing nourishment through drip-line irrigation.

Moussadiebougou is a remote small village of 1,800 villagers in southern Mali, 77 Kilometers (48 miles) southwest of the capital city of Bamako.  The village women’s garden, 92 meters (300 feet) by 61 meters (200 feet),  was not very successful because of the lack of water available to water the garden. The Mali Wellness Foundation drilled a 67 meter (220 foot) deep well system that provided clean water for the village.  They dug a 228 meter (250 yard) trench and laid pipe to run water from the well to the garden. To water the entire garden takes about two hours with the new drip-line system.
