Moussadiabougou

Provide access to clean water

Moussadiabougou’s growing public access to clean water.

Moussadiebougou is a remote small village of 1,800 villagers in southern Mali, 77 Kilometers (48 miles) southwest of the capital city of Bamako. Their wells are very shallow with an average depth of less than 6 meters (20 feet). As rain and surface water run into the wells new bacteria are introduced into the wells.

The Mali Wellness Foundation drilled a 67 meter (220 foot) deep well, installed a solar operated pump and a 5,000 liter (1,320 gallon) water tank.  The pump has the capability of pumping 10,800 (2853 gallons) liters per hour. The Foundation also installed two water spigots in the village so the villagers have  accessible clean water  for drinking, cooking and washing hands. The foundation provided a water education seminar.
